Quote:to me it looks like the option to record mux is the one we want
Yes, that sounds like the right words.

Quote:would it help if I try and record a few seconds worth and upload to the ftp...then at least you can tell me if they are the files you are looking for?
Yep, thats sounds good.

Quote:I just tried this record mux option for 1 minute and ended up with a file size of around 140mb....this is for OTA with around 15 active channels...I think
That might be right for ATSC - I'm not sure of the exact data rates there.

I know its not an instant fix when you need to snail mail stuff to me, but it'd only take a week or so to get to me - and I'm going on for most of the next week.

no problem on the snail mail...just don't wanna send you useless garbage.I've uploaded a 10 second file around 22 mb....is that too big for you to download? and also an xml export from tsreader both on the ftp from earlier.....this might give you an idea if we are looking at the right stuff

thank for all the help

Guys, if you want I have an secure ftp site that you can upload the file to and download it from. I can setup accounts for both if your if you want. I have a fiber line to my house so no problems with bandwidth.

If you want to do this each of you should download winscp its free. Then send me private mail.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm near the end of my 20GB monthly traffic limit from here at home, so cant really download much more (roll around onthe 17th) - but I'll keep this in mind for future situations like this.

Sub, I started to record transport streams last night, and noticed that some of the signals seemed a little weak. This morning I played with antenna alignment and ran a bda scan succesfully in gbpvr. One thing I noticed is the addition of channel 21.1 listed as unknown, I have never seen this channnel before, nor have I seen an unknown channel listed. Would there be any log files from this that may be of interest?

If you include a transport stream for this mux that has the unknown channel, I'll take a look.
