gbpvr works great, but when I record something, I want to edit out the commercials. Windows Movie Maker seems okay, but is inprecise, and leaves a couple of frames of the commercials in. Avid Free DV takes forever to load and takes up all of my computers resources before even opening these sometimes multi-gig recordings. Virtual Dub cant edit mpeg2 files.

What should I use?

I have used VideoRedo in the past with excellent results. Comskip can generate videoredo project files as well.

Do a search for virtualdubmod. Thats a version which will load MPEG2 just fine. (although it takes a while when loading large recordings)

The comskip / clean mentioned above is free.

Thanks

I thought virtualdubmod didn't write mpeg2, I could be wrong of course.

I use VideoReDo too. The newest version supports direct editing of VOB files, as an added bonus to what it can already do.

IIRC, you can load MPEG2 into VirtualDubMod, but you can't save (redub) as MPEG2. You have to choose another format, such as DivX.
