Hauppauge remote losing focus

Is there away to have the Hauppauge 45 button remote not lose focus?. I have gb-pvr running on my tv which is my secondary monitor on my computer. My wife watches the tv and i use the computer but when i do anything on the computer the remote starts contrlling my pc.

Also anybody ever figure out whats going on with the start on second monitor issue?.. I clicked the box but it still starts on my primary monitor unless i go windowed mode and leave it on the second monitor.

I have a ati 1900xt if that helps

There are two options, one of which I couldn't find the posting for.

My solution was to modified the irremote.ini in the C:Windows directory to add the following line (see post 03-26-2006, 09:06 PM by Grahamm in the thread "PVR150 remote without application focus" for more details):

Open the file and find the [Default] Section. This is the area that is accessed first when you press a button on the remote. Add the Following, Replacing if necessary.
GRNPOWER={run(c:\progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe)}
In addition, under the GB-pvr section, you want to add another line so that the plugins or the program can use the Green Power button to do the action it would ordinarily do if you hadn't added the extra line in the default area (something I forgot to do and can't find the instruction for: I think it is something like "GRNPOWER=" which overrides the previous command such that the plugin or program's command will take precident).

However this just allows the person with the remote to regain the focus for long enough to take the necessary action. As soon as you do something on the computer, the person with the remote will have to push the designated key again, in my case the Green Power button at the top.

There was posting by Emil, in the same thread, who wanted the remote to be able to control the watching of TV shows without having focus, but you may need to have a pvr 250 or 350 or use a third party program called HIP which is referred to in many other postings. Emil did attach his remote ini file so you may want to look at that to see what works best for you.

I understand that the remote stops working after you've opened & closed GB-PVR a few times. Once it stops working, if you restart IRREMOTE does it begin functioning again?
If so, set one of the remote buttons under the [Default] sections to run the "Restart IR Remote" command: "C:\Program Files\WinTV\Ir.exe" /QUIET
