On my recommendation, a friend purchased an ATI TV Wonder 550 at the same time that I purchased mine. His problem is he can't record with GB-PVR
but "live tv" works just fine. His recording service will make a folder for the program but the folder will be empty after the scheduled program has supposedly recorded. GB-PVR indicates that it is recording when it is scheduled to but no file is in the folder. He is running the following hardware:

1. Foxconn mobo with VIA chipset.

2. Sempron 2500 socket A cpu.

3. 512 MB PC 2700 ram.

4. Radeon 9250 VIVO graphics card.

5. Onboard AC 97 audio.

6. IDE 80 GIG hard drive (master) IDE 80 GIG hard drive (slave).

Try running the ReRegisterFilters.bat file. If it doesnt help, zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I have just upgraded from 98.13 to 99.05 and I get the same symptoms but only for some recordings. Others work fine.

The attached log was saved at 20.30 and shows a recording "starting" at 20.00 and due to finish at 21.00. At 20.30 GBPVR was showing the recording as "Ready" in "Whats New".

The attached .GRF might contain a clue!

I'll run the .bat file but I am not optimistic because some recordings are OK.

Thanks

Graham

Another recording didn't create a file and I spotted it before the show ended. I was able to watch the show on "Live TV" without any problem.

But, when I pressed Ctrl-O during "Live TV", the Signal Strength bar was empty and the Signal Quality bar was full (i.e. at 100%).

The relevant logs are attached. The show was on channel "five" at 23.00.

For what it's worth, nothing like this has happened in the past 18 months of using GBPVR.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Graham

P.S. It may be that the hardest thing to achieve is a high TDAF (Teenage Daughter Acceptance Factor). In this house, GBPVR scores better than anything except MSN Messenger and MySpace!

I've fixed it for me. Somehow or other I have acquired recordings for a channel called "Five" and for a channel called "five". I had mapped a digital channel to one TV Guide channel but not to the other.

The xmltv data was being stored against the channel that had no digital channel parameters. That is, tuning_request in source_channel_mapping was empty.

I also noticed that GBPVR appears to store EPG data against the channel with the lowest channel number (on Channels tab of Config) when it has more than one channel with the same name. If I set "Five" as channel 0, it gets the EPG data. If I set "five" as channel 0, ditto.

All's well that ends well.
