You'd have to talk to Nintendo about that one. They just havnt provided any development tools that could be used to do this.

I heard that the PS3 can be used as a PVR with Linux installed on it. Does anyone know of any networking capabilities the ps3 may have with a PC? Wonder if it will be possible somehow to be able to stream recorded tv from GBPVR to the PS3.

I've been using Orb to stream GBPvr recorded shows to my Wii via the Orb embedded flash player. Would be really cool to see a flash based player for the GBPvr web page for handling this from within the GBPvr realm. Would work for the Wii and I assume the PS3 also.

You have to have things set up through a web interface I think. Let me test some things out. I haven't tried the Web admin yet. Been a little busy looking for a new job and stuff. I was able to access my NAS hard drive (was able to log on), but didn't see anything since it just is a network disk drive not running any html stuff.

I have read of sucess using a USB drive for external media easily, just not sure yet through the network.

BTW, I believe "Austrasia" gets the ps3 March 23rd.

I can access the Web admin and download files to play on the PS3 hard drive. (big waste of time for video since you cannot do anything with the system while downloading)

Don't have VLC installed to test streaming, if it works?? Never used the web admin and such so I am running blind at the moment.

My PS3 won't let me download through the web admin. When trying to download to the hard drive it asks for media storage or something, if I put a memory card in it complains about the media format I believe. I'll try again with the 1.5 firmware though, maybe something has changed.

I hope Sub get's a PS3 Smile

all my mp3's have spaces in the names, the PS3 doesn't like the sapces I don't think. Have you had any luck downloading mpeg2 recordings to the HDD?

EDit: I'll go mess with EWA some more. Mayube play some Metal gear solid 3 as well, that game is super hard.

Very interesting info fatman_do. Thanks. I remember reading somewhere that sony plans on allow background downoads so you can still do other things on the ps3 while a download is completed. I hope this happens sooner than later. Although I currently do not have a ps3, I hope to get on in the future. I'm hapy to see that at least a group of people can have a decent conversation about the system instead of fanboy talk.

My mp3's have spaces in the names. I did not bother downloading mpeg2's since they would take a long time (I just tried this out so I may in the future when I can walk away for a while).
