Yep. Got it working 2 weeks ago - in fact, I just ordered the double blaster Big Grin .

I use it with winlirc (open source) and digits.exe (public domain?). Basically, GBPVR sends the info to digits.exe, which telnets to winlirc, which sends the signal via the serial port to your STB.

This thread really saved me on the whole setup.....
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...digits.exe

The last page has a great summary on how to configure and get it working.

Also, the current compiled version of winlirc doesn't have 'transmit.exe' which you'll need. I downloaded the previous version and it has it in there.

Another gotcha for me was that I needed to use "DTD" in winlirc for the transmission settings - not sure if that was because of my receivers or what.

Anyway it I got it in about 3 days and it was $3 shipping. You may want to spring for the "clear" one otherwise you never know if it's transmitting. (cuts down on the frustration if something doesn't work - at least you know it's sending something.)

Thanks for the info, it will be helpfull as I get this up and running once I get the blaster in the mail.

In case anyone is interested, I plan on building an extension cable myself using CAT-5e cable to run from room to room, then I plan on using another cable run with it and paraLED to power some LEDs to show me the machine status. I'll mount the LEDs and the RS-232 connector in a project box at the TV end and plug the blaster into it. If I get time, I'll write a web page with photos and wiring diagrams for others who are interested.
Athalon XP 3200+, 2 GB HyperX, 80 gig start drive, 250 gig data drive, Hauppauge PVR-350, Gigabyte Nvidia graphics card 6600 series. Controlling a Motorola cable box (Comcast) and playing back on a wired MVP.
