Computer doesn't wake up for recording

I couldn't get GB-PVR to regularly wake up my computer for scheduled recording. It is the same whether it is from stand-by or from hibernate. I tested it many times in last 2-3 days, and only one or two times computer woke up.
After computer have not been starting (waking!) at scheduled time, I have been starting it manually. I try to analyze what has been happening, and here are some observations:

1. In most cases GBPVR Recording Service stopped, disappeared from active process list in Task Manager. Recording Service was active prior to hibernating (or stand by). If I restart it manually, or restart the computer, GBPVR usually starts recording that should have been started earlier, before these manual actions.

2. Sometimes I got the message:
Error: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
This message sometimes occurs "out of nowhere", even without any recording taking place, and after computer reboot everything is ok.

3. Neither of above mentioned, actually I don't see any reason why it failed.

And one more thing: I cannot delete one of failed recordings from GBPVR. There isn't any file associated with it, but I cannot delete it. Other failed recordings I could have deleted.

I don't know if this would be of any importance, but during those testings I usually put computer in stand by only 5-15 minutes before it should have wake up for recording. I think the only time it woke up, this interval was a bit longer (20-30 minutes). Is this anyhow relevant, because I don't see why it should be!?

Just to mention that recording is fine if I don't send computer to stand-by, but leave it running regularly. Only thing I have to care about is that I don't get a message mentioned in 2., in Live TV mode. What causes that message to occur?

I read that post before and I stopped using Net Limiter since. But I am still using NOD32, and that could be the reason for both 1 and 2. It says in that post that: "they will cause the Recording Service crash". That is just what is happening to me. But, as I mentioned, it works fine in most "normal" occasions - that is the reason why I thought NOD32 is not an obstacle any more.
I'll do what is suggested and reply back.

Yeah, could be. That is the only thing I'm aware of that causes the recording service to crash.

I did what is suggested, but I didn't uninstall NOD32 though. Just add GbpvrRecordingService.exe to IMON Exclusion list, disabled Firewall and NEtLimiter.
I got this message in Recording log, after computer didn't start from hibernation and I started it manually:

I had more success with waking up from stand by: it worked once (and several times didn't).
I also noticed that GBPVR Recording Service disappears from Task Manager after I start computer manually from hibernation or stand-by. Or it disappears earlier but I get screen refresh later!?
Anyway, this problem occurs only after stand-by or hibernation. After reboot, recording starts as scheduled.

Maybe I should disable NOD32, if I want to use hibernation!? Would it work out if I uninstall NOD32, and install it again - so that GBPVR would be first one out of these two installed on the machine?

I'm sure its somehow related to NOD32, but I dont use it myself, so cant answer your questions about it. I'd uninstall if you can live without it, or get that patch from Microsoft.

Are you sure you don't have any other programs running that could do this?
Maybe it is some kind of wake-up problem for your tunercard. I know in the past (maybe still) people were using a wake-up command to get their card out of standby/hibernation properly. I really don't know if that still applies.:confused:

I am not sure of anything anymore. :confused:
I uninstalled NOD32, but recording service still doesn't wake up the computer.
Sometimes I get message mentioned before (like 15 minutes ago), sometimes I get the other message about corrupted memory (mentioned in article about Microsoft hotfix for NET 2.0). And sometimes there is no any error messages in the log (like 30 min. ago) and Recording Service is alive when I wake up computer manually - simply nothing happened. And sometimes (very rarely!) computer wakes up (but only from stand-by so far, never from hibernation), even with NOD32

So, maybe it is some wake-up problem with my tuner card (Hauppauge Nova-T USB)
I can try to use other ways to wake up computer (any suggestions? - I found "wosb.exe" utility) or simply leave my computer running all the time (the least desirable solution). But, if I am using other tool to wake up computer for recording, then much of EPG recording benefits are lost, aren't they?

Anyway, I think I am gonna reinstall NOD32 and find the other way around - I will not rely on Recording Service wake up. Unless someone enlighten me with a brilliant idea.

It seems that GBPVR recording service doesn't like when my computer goes off hibernation or stand by. Now external application (wosb) wakes up the machine, but as soon as it goes on, Rec. Service collapse with usual message:

Recording has been scheduled for later on, not at wake-up time. Maybe I should include GBPVRRecService restart in wake-up call!? Or simply give up playing with it....

You could check if there are any new(er) chipset/usb drivers for your motherboard. Maybe they have problems with waking up.
