I'm trying to get GB-PVR working for the first time. It's installed and I can see that some things work, in particular, we can see the tv guide, view photos, and it appears to make a recording (file is created). However I cannot view the recording. From the recording menu the PLAY-DELETE-CLOSE menu pops-up when the recording is selected but when PLAY leads to the PVR getting hung up.

I'm not sure what information will help diagnose the problem but here are some specs of my machine:
2.7GHz Celeron
1.5 GB RAM
WinTV-PVR 150 (Hauppauge)
The Video card (?) is whatever came with the system and I can't locate specs on this--could this be the issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! (My family, including three teenages, is waiting for me to get this fixed!) -- Thanks

Hi,

had the same problem... did you install a MPEG-DECODER?
See http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FAQ/Codec for more issues.

Sorry,
I forgot to mention taht I have Hauppauge's WinTV-PVR 150 installed. I was able to watch TV from the PC with this prior to installing GB-PVR.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I had the exact same problem when setting up GB-PVR with a WinTV-PVR 150 card last night. Everything worked except for Live TV and Recording Playback. I disabled my Windows XP Firewall and it all started working perfectly.

Cheers,

Attached at the files (using the Debug setting in Config). My XP firewall is disabled but I was running McAfee Security which includes a firewall. I disabled this and tried to view the recording agian but with the same result. FYI, if I view Task Manager at the same time, a fe seconds after I hit PLAY, the indicator on Task Manager changes from "Running" to "Not Responding"

Thanks for helping out!

Are you watching through the mvp or via the computer screen/tv-on-tvout? If it's the last you should disable the mvp for now, because the log is only written for the mvp-gbpvr.exe.

I stopped MVP and tried again -- same result. I've attached logs. I'm trying to watch it on the PC. I tried to watch using MVP on the television but had this problem so I thought I should try to do this on the PC first. Does this make sense? One other thing, I can watch live TV from the WinTV2000.

Thanks

What audio and video decoders do you have selected on the playback tab of the config app? If they're set to 'system default', then try explicitly selecting another option - I think there is something funny with the default decoders on your machine.
