Hi

I have been usin SQL to modify the DB content (to edit some info regaring programs) but since GBPVR hsas the Export/import functionality I am thinking of exporting the DB content to an XML file, Edit and re-import it to the DB. Would this create doules in the DB or will the info be replaced?

Another thing. Can I Export on one GBPVR machine (lets say my server) and import the recordings (with paths edited) on another machine (lets say at my parents or in-laws). Would the information merge with what's in the database or would it replace it all together?

I have found no info on how it works even though I have tried to search in the Forum and Wiki.

The export feature only exports the list of 'ready' recordings, and the program the linked to.

Yes, you can do this. It'll add the recordings from that file, but only for recordings where the specified video file exists.

Try it and take a look at the file. Its pretty simple.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I realise it is only ready recorings that gets exported, and that is exactly what I am looking for. The XML-TV Feed I am getting in Sweden does not have any info in the Subtitle field and I would like to put the epiusode info there. Perhaps even rename a few Program names to include more info.

It feels nice that it will produce doubles in the DB if I import it on the same machine.

Another thing I was trying to do was to mive a Manual recording I made of a series to be presented together with all other episodes.

No problem with moving the file (an change tha path in the DB). But what tables do I have to edit to make it appear as a scheduled recording together with the rest?

All recordings are loaded from the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table.

You might find the mpegupdate utility very useful. I know I do when I need to integrate manual recordings. It takes care of all table updates, so all you have to do is edit title/subtitle.
