You know, I actually read preinke's setup as "is set to true". Don't know how I did that Smile

Yeah... I'm not clear on what the difference between them are, though.

I've currently got:
<PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>true</PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>
<TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible>true</TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible>
so I think I'll take the opportunity to re-install the Capture Sources.

It may be a hang-over from the initial installation as I also seem to end up with dual recordings on that one channel?

I'll post my findings later

I'd guess that recordings that have already been scheduled are not affected by those settings, only future recordings (from a week forward or so)

There was a thread here somewhere where I described what each of the two settings does. The defaults, recommended by me are:

<PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>false</PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>
<TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible>true</TryToHonourPaddingIfPossible>

... which effectively means it'll try and squeeze as many recordings in as possible, leaving other capture sources available if possible, but will possibly switch capture sources at record time if the capture device is already in use another capture source is available for the duration of the record (ie, letting both have padding if possible).

After reloading (starting with a new gbpvr.db3 file, re-creating the Capture sources etc) I *believe* the issue I'm seeing stems from duplicate recordings being scheduled from a single reoccuring recording?

In the past I have deleted the re-occurring show, but if all the settings for the recording are pre-determined when the EPG is loaded, then maybe I'm cancelling the wrong scheduled recording (with the correct padding?).

Where could I look to find out why it's scheduling two recordings from the single reoccurring recording?

Could I just change the padding (or confirm the padding) on a recording after cancelling the duplicate?

I tried a search, but the words are "either too long, too short or too common" to search for Big Grin Oh, well, I'll stick with the recommended settings Smile

Must have been simething I did during the re-install.

I've done it again and all seems OK.

FYI - I think the thread was http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=23504

Paul

PS - I don't suppose there's an easy way to repopulate the Recordings Listings from all my saved recordings? Smile

Use this: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/MpegImport
and then import the resulting file with "import recordings" on the "plugin" tab of the gbpvr config program.

That's just what I was after.

The GUI version even has an Import button to directly import it into GBPVR.
