gbpvr media experience

ive created a skin (well i ported a skin from xbmc).  its a port of xbmc media experience, which use to come as the default skin with xbmc. i love this skin, and decided to port it over.  ive also included images from mediaportal (basically an image or two from all their skins).  ive added a readme.txt to the skin zip file, which contains this information, if any author/artist of the images wishes me to add more credit or remove the image, just say so and ill do so.  it also includes the UltraID3 dll, which you can find here: http://home.fuse.net/honnert/hundred/

also theres a panel to display the current playing music (ill release this plugin by itself, i just havent finished developing it so it translates better to different skins.)

once again: if any artist/developer wishes me to remove the images i will do so. im sorry i havent asked your permission as i googled a lot of these images and cant remember where they came from.

Hi Reven,

nice looking skin but it seems to have a couple of problems in the recordings plugin

the buttons item-nofocus.png and button-nofocus.png seem to be missing any chance you could post them somewhere

I also dont seem to get the local time message from the weather plugin

the local time message i left out, i didnt like it, just edit the skin file and theres an tag called "visible="false"" change it to true, and it will show up.

i must have delete those images when i was try to clean it up and upload it, if you look around some other folders you will find those same images, just copy them over, ill upload a corrected version now.

update: fixed version now uploaded, same place.
if i missed any more images, just say so add ill add them. i made the skin on my main machine, which has no capture cards, so i might have missed a few things.

ive uploaded a new version to the wiki, changed a few icons, and added support for new "my music" plugin. but there still seems to be a file size limit in the wiki, so if you havent already installed an older version of gbpvrme it might not work, or you will have to copy a few folders across from the blue skin, net radio and fm radio (these are needed even if not using them for gbpvr to load, and i delete a few task images just to make it fit, and removed the music panel plugin).

When I got into recordings the ready list seems to still be using the black background for the listed item, but the other lists are showing the nice transparent background.  Is that correct?

Also, on your screen shot at the top of this post, above the menu, where is lists "Ghost of the Robot - Liar" I don't see that on my main menu... is that supposed to be the show that is currently being recorded?  If so it isn't working for me...

Should be able to edit the skin and change fillcolor from black to transparent

the recordings is a bug sub hasnt fixed yet, you cant change this in the skin at the moment.

ghost of the robot, no silly thats a band, if a music file is playing (and youve downloaded the media experience prior to yesterday (had to remove this to fit in wiki)) the music file will show up as a panel, which is already set in the main menu skin.xml file.

I love the looks of your new skin!
I tried installing it tonight but it starts up with a debug window. It is just a matter of placing the media experience folder in the skin folder along with the musicpanel in the plugin directory correct? Then selecting that skin from the config program? Sorry for such the newbie issue!


Is there any other prerequisite for it to work? It says "an unhandled exception has occurred in your application.

can you pm me your gbpvr.exe.log, there might be something i missed, but it should work straight away, it also needs the ultraid3.dll (or ultra[something].dll i forget the name) in the gbpvr root directory, which is needed for the mp3 tags. also another plugin where i havent included in the skin could be crashing it, so copy the dirs from the blue skin for every plugin you have to the "media experience" folder and see if it works.

I hope to have fixed the filesize bug on the wiki now.

What did you call your skin, I can't seem to find the page for it on the wiki...
