I also have the same "Unable to start BDA device" message appearing, but I am trying to install a Hauppauge Nova-S with BDA drivers downloaded from TechnoTrend. GB-PVR has picked up the card OK, but when I start mapping channels it comes up with this message. I've attached my log file for reference.

Run filtercheck, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log and I'll take a look. http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6

I seem to have gotten the MPEG 2 Sections and Tables to work now in GraphEdit. I used DirectShow Filter Manager to re-register the filter. But I still seem to get the same error and problem. I have checked the log files and the Config.exe-native doesn't have the error in it anymore. But my config.exe log now has an error stating that it is unable to read or write protected memory. I'll attach the log files so you can see.

I think there is still something funny going on with that filter, which I'm sure is part of the reason this is occurring.

Somethings changed, as now when I try to map the channels, the screen flickers, then the error comes up after about 5 seconds, while before it came up straight away.

Well, I have just tried it again and it seems to work now, as it scans all the way through. But it isn't picking up any channels.

You could try setting the following registry setting:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Devnz\AddGraphToROT=1 (DWORD) The run graphedit while a scan is occuring, and use the 'connect to remote graph' menu option to view the graph, then zip and attach a screenshot of the graph. This will tell us if everything has hooked up correctly.

I am now getting the original error again when I try to scan. Thanks for your help so far, but it looks like something is definetely not right with the way it is setup. Do you know of anyone who has managed to use GB-PVR in Vista?

A few people have. Not too many reports so far with Vista.
I'd tried it with a couple of the beta's, but not the final release version yet. |
