Hello all, got a transcodoing question.
I'm using the built-in transcodoing and I'm not getting the quality I would like. Using the default settings in the AVI's that are generated for Xvid are a little blocky. I tried to up the bit-rate but it didn't seem to have any effect. I have done a little research on FFMPEG and I modified the command line to up the bit-rate but it didn't work or didn't have any effect on the quality or I"m doing something wrong.
This is the ffmpeg command line I added to my config.xml:
<Conversion name="XviD - HighQuality" cmd="-y -i {SOURCE_FILE} -f avi -ab 224 -ac 2 -acodec mp3 -vcodec mpeg4 -b 2500 -vtag XVID {DEST_FILE}" targetExtension=".avi">-y -i {SOURCE_FILE} -f avi -ab 224 -ac 2 -acodec mp3 -vcodec mpeg4 -b 2500k -vtag XVID {DEST_FILE}</Conversion>
I tried changing the "-b" from 1400 to 2500. I made the change on both the source and dest file sections.
Any idea what else I should change to get a better quality AVI? The size is still 720x480 frame rate is still 29fps.
Thanks in advance.
