Driver Release 2.0.48.24227.PreRelease (08/15/06)
* Fixed potential muted FM audio issue introduced in 24201.

Driver Release 2.0.48.24205.PreRelease (07/24/06)
* Fixed bluescreen on S3 (and possibly shutdown) introduced in 24201.

Driver Release 2.0.48.24201.PreRelease (07/20/06)
* CCInDVD Support.
* Optional firmware load delays.
* Fixed obscure, unlikely (and unreported) but potential bluescreen issue.

I am confused on the driver numbering....for the longest time the 24.108 drivers were the latest beta drivers.....
From the above numbers and dates I do not see the corresponding indcreases.....

Someone did post the same question over at shspvr....looks like they are also trying to address the multi tunner with dropped timeline issue...

Look at the response.....

Does this make it clearer?

With the PVR250/350, recordings will automatically include CC data in the MPEG2 stream if it was present. If you then playback one of those files, and are using the Intervideo decoder and VMR9 renderer, then you'll see CC data overlaid on the video. There is no way to toggle it on or off.

I tried the new drivers with my PVR150 and PVR150MCE. Using the same registry trick as the PVR250/350, the CC data is in the MPEG2 stream and
CC is displayed with the special conditions mentioned above.

Another thing that I've tried which seems to have a higher success is to use mpg2srt (http://www.htpctools.com/mpg2srt/) which extracts the CC data from the MPEG2 file and stores it into a .srt (and .smil) file. Using the SRT viewer, I have had good results on the computer as well on the MVP.

The only problem is that the captions are always on. My kids hate captions and I like using them late at night. Hard to please everyone. Who do you think loses?

You can have the best of both worlds :-). Use mpg2srt to extract the closed captions into .srt file. Turn off the CC option and click Enable SRT viewer. The playback will show the subtitles from the .srt file and not show the CC. You can toggle the displaying of the subtitles.

Can you toggle the CC display during playback, without using the config app?

No, when you're using this embedded CC info plus the intervideo/vmr functionality. Yes, when you're using this mpg2srt method with the built in SRT viewer.
