Fantastic! This goes to the top of the list of configurations once I get GBPVR fully running (kids age 7, 4 and 4 who all love the remote control).

It's a shame the XML file is not the sort of thing that you can easily browse.
But I know one of my tasks for the next rainy day Wink

Get hold of XML Notepad 2006 - it's an MS application and shows all the nodes nicely in the lefthand pane with the values in the righthand pane.

NOTE - I've never used it to view/edit a 'current' config.xml file so I'm not sure if it will screw it up the way Wordpad etc. does. You might want to take a copy of your config.xml file for viewing/browsing purposes just in case, although I'd doubt it would cause problems.

Cheers,
Brian

that pin number, very cool. my htpc is also stand-alone and this is an option i could see being on the settings tab. The rest i just remote connect which normally means rebooting once i'm done. I need to install that "hack" i saw a day ago for concurrent remote connections.

The "boot into safe mode" instruction did not work for me. I booted from a PE utility CD and installed the dll file.

It works great although I had some minor issues that now I just work around... I think I had 2 accounts one would auto logon w/ no password and one password protected. If I switched local sessions to the passworded account, and then logged in remotely to that account, I could not get back into the non-passworded account. It kept prompting me for a pwd. Reboot would auto-login again.

PS - By default remote desktop (and file sharing) do not allow a user account with no password to connect. This can also be changed in group policy.

Why do you need to reboot? Because remote desktop locks you out?

Have you used a VNC program? This allows you control the actual desktop - you see what the TV/Monitor sees but its over a LAN. I use Real VNC (its free).
