better Netstream 2000 support??

Hi there. Not certian where to put this, here or in the wish list.. but would it be possible to get better Netstream 2000 support.. I like your program alot and is very functional for the netstream..
but music file and audio cd will not play ( no sound) .. basically the netstream protocal is not that much different then. xcards ones... other then it's osd appears to be 256 colour, no hardware mp3 or mp4 decoder, and no avi display through the cards video buffer-( probably possible- just sigma will not allow support for this in thier drivers)

basically the only difference is either. instead of transcoing to mp3 do it in mp2 audio.. or probably the easiest would be not submit the the audio mp3 to the hardware decoder..just have the windows system software decoder play it..

I'd like to help but unfortunately I dont have one of these devices, so unless some wants to donate one of these cards, its likely to stay as it is. Sorry.

thats to bad. I would not think it would be to hard to change it.. I am willing to to test it for you.. If I had spares I would send one too you..

I made a driver package for it that allowed it to all work before. ( play audio cds, and mp3s through it.. but for some reason it's broken) and I can not seem to figure out why... I am missing something and I just do not see what what I missing.... . I think perhaps it is a dxfilter of some sort... just to figure out which one....

Oh well I keep trying until I can figure out what I am missing..

it something because even TVedia not working properly.. no audio cds or mp3 playing either and it use to play nice there..

okay sorted out my problem with tvedia.. audio cds, mps what have you play fine within that program.. ( I figured out my driver problem it was broken)

but when it comes to this program.. they refuse to work. if I open them with tvedia . the MP3 generated by gb-prv work fine with in tvedia ( so it not that the files are malformed for tvedia).

also for the life of me I can not get netradio to work in either softmode or hardmode even though the the mp3 generated seems to work fine.. would I be missing a dxfilter by some chance.. for this netradio ??

I know you say you do not have a this card and can not help.. but it funny it does not work.. since the sdk you get for the sigma chipsets (xcard netsteam 2000, netstream4000) are all base on the netsream 2000 card.. 84XX type cards all the drivers are interchangeable for these cards.. the basic difference is you will either gain some functions or loose some functions depending on the type of card you have..

From memory, I think GB-PVR connects the following directshow filters, in the following order:

GB-PVR Shoutcast -> MPEG-I Stream Splitter
MPEG-I Stream Splitter -> Sigma Designs PCM Swapper
Sigma Designs PCM Swapper -> Sigma Designs MPEG-2 hardware decoder

okay for the mpeg-1 splitter. I can see a problem there especialy in xp.. some of the filters that come with xp are depeciated and do not work properly any more...
mpeg2 splitter and I believe mpeg 1 splitter too for the mpeg2 splitter the mpeg2 demuxer is suppose to be used instead and for mpeg 1 i can not remember...

by some chance could you supply me with a 200kb file of a shoutcast broadcast then I could atleast inform what might be the probable cause.. ( if we work from the same file should be able to sort out the probable cause)

but since you are working from memory these are the filters that exsist for the xcard by default..

mp4 file parser
avi splitter
mpeg splitter
mpeg2 hardware decoder

I do not think I seen the the other one before that you mentioned.. perhaps this is my problem. why netradio and fmradio will not for me through the the netstream.. I tried playing mp3 through the music libary it working fine in gb-pvr.. (I forgot to try that after my new driver) if you can send me the pcm wrapper to me to see if it will work for me

The 'MPEG-I Stream Splitter' still works fine on XP, and I have no need or intention to change it.

I was try to remember the connections from memory, but the names are correct. For XCard audio support GB-PVR requires the following sigma filters:

Sigma Designs MPEG-2 hardware decoder
Sigma Designs PCM Swapper

Without the PCM swapper, you get no audio.

okay I check through my installer for my driver package for the netstream.. it installs the rmswap.ax ( pcm swapper) but fails to register it for some reason.. even though it set to register... humm no problem.. I manual registered it and now it works fine..

well thankyou for your time.. helping me understand how it connects .. and solve the problem that I was having..

the netradio protion is now working fine...

now just to figure out why the fm radio does not wish to work.. i install lame dx and it works in software mode. just not hardware mode.. I assume it works the same way generally as netradio.. only difference it working from mp3 file...
but the biggest problem I see is that for some reason gb-prv is recording it as a video file with and it recording very large 1 minute is generally about 100 megs... probably explains why a active windows pop up in software mode..

if I load this mp3 into a windows media player it is unplayable. only vlc plays it and it decodes it as a video file.. I try downloading a differ version of lame dx and see if it makes a difference.. any suggestions ???

okay I tried a couple versions of dshow lame.. but they are doing the same thing... it does not matter what I do it makes a mp3 file that is approx on an average a 45 meg file per minute...

just have to ask are you sure it not broken. perhaps a typo within your program or in the the fmradio plugin that perhaps instead of 128 kbs it recording at 1280 kbs this would explain the the large file.. wait aminute, okay if I unistall lame show it still record the fmradio and it seems to be using a different filter then what your say it uses to record. ( file creation is still the same size 45 megs per minute).. I tried to figure out what filter being used but not luck .. any suggestion how - graphedit does not show these connections??

( by the way this is a clean install xp with just the miminal instal of programs.. basically only the drivers. dx9 and gb-pvr so it should not be any competing software..)
