SearchWiz - New Plugin

Ok, a couple things i noticed in the log:
1) Looks like you are using an .MDB, I wrote this using the sqlite db. Not sure if that is a problem or not.

2) You have some DLLs in the plugin directory that are not Plugins. These DLLs should live in the gbpvr directory (one level up from plugins).
DriverWrapper.DLL
NativeUtilities.DLL
System.Data.SQLite.dll

This happened to me also when developing and I had 'Copy Local' set to true for these DLLs in the solution explorer. Solution Explorer, open up References, in the Properties dialog for each DLL, that setting can be changed to FALSE. (Then the DLL won't be copied to the target directory).


3) Something about one of your recording sources seem off, several exceptions when it is trying to initialize.


If SearchWiz loads, there should be a SearchWiz.log file in the logs directory that may provide more information. I will create a new version that has more logging around the DB open logic and post at the above link.

Unfortunately, that will be much later today as work has gotten in the way of fun and I must run to catch a bus now....

Just thought I would let you know, I played around with the original version (not your latest update), and seemed to work fine for me. For giggles, I'll download the latest version and maybe start adding it to the 16:9 Community Skin.

I'll let you know if I have errors with it along the way.

Hi there,

I think your spot on with the first point.

I am using .mdb on my development machine.

Point 2. I worked out about the local .dll references issue around a month ago corrected in the source and didnt bother to delete the extra dll from my plugins directory (done that now) Its amazing how I just skip past all the rubbish when I am debugging GameZone just to focus on developing the plugin.

the third point is explained as I dont actually have a source in my Dev PC anymore but the configuration is still there for it. I dont see any issue with other plugins, I would not anticipate any with searchwiz either; just a clean up issue I would say.

As I said I think its the first point regarding the database support.

Thanks for the help pointing that out anymore issue once I move it to my main PC I pass on.
