Are the numbered buttons supposed to work as advertized in the MVP Manual when using GB-PVR? They don't do anything for me.

sub has implemented the buttons differently from the Hauppauge software. An example is the mute button. Hauppauge has it, GB-PVR doesn't. This is one time we would say to not RTFM... Big Grin

Anyway, the numbers will work as numbers and if you're on a menu and want the fourth item, the number 4 will pop that up for you....

I see. I was hoping they would provide the ability to quickly move through a video.

Is there any other way to do something like this?

you can do that, hit a number like 5 and then the advance button and it will skip 5 minutes

The skip button jumps forward a minute by default.

Optionally you can type a number of minutes before pressing the skip button. ie, 24-skip will jump forward 24 minutes.
