How do I find what the Default quality is for recording using QuickRecord? Can I change it somewhere? I want HIGH Quality always....

VMR9, VMR7. How do I determine which to use? I have tried both with success, but at bootup, sometimes GBPVR says VMR9 not present.

The medium quality is always used when you do a 'quick record'. You can change the medium quality profile to use whatever bitrate rate/resolution you want though.

Use whatever works best for you. It sounds like VMR9 support on your system is not reliable. Updated video card drivers may help this - if not, then dont use VMR9.

Where are these profiles kept? Is there a ini file? A xml file? I record programs for either archiving or viewing. For viewing, I delete the recording once I've viewed it, so it's size is no issue, for archiving, I want only the highest quality. So I want only HIGH quality. It is akward. to always have to select Schedule, to select HIGH quality.

They stored in direct.ini, but you can edit the profiles in the config app, in the capture source settings, recording source settings (at the botton).

Config-Capture Sources screen has no "recoding source settings" that I can see. However INI settings are pretty straight forward.
Thanks

It has a "recording source" drop download list near the top, currently set to 'Direct Recording Plugin'. Click the 'Settings' button to the right of this.

Got it. I already modified the INI, though, but this is good to know.

Another issue:
If watching LiveTV, I hit the "guide" button on my remote, I get the GBPVR guide overlay. Is there a way to make this a "always on" setting?
