If you've ever become frustrated because something in GBPVR is not working, take a moment and consider this and this and this and this and this. Credit where credit's due; for one guy (with a wife and two kids), most problems are solved outrageously quickly.

Cheers. Yeah, it's just a behavioural thing I guess, that I like to watch and see evolve over time.

sub doesn't blow up that often TBH, the man has incredible patience (has to have I suppose). The 1 or 2 times he did go off, the fellow deserved it 110%. What I really really like (and for me it's a good thing), is that

• If there is something he can't solve he says "I don't know" (after giving it a good crack and spending time on it proportionate to the number of events of occurence).
  
• If there is something he won't add from the wishlist he simply says "no, I won't be adding that". Fair enough, it's either way too much effort for his own purposes or there's not enough clamour for it globally.
  
• If there is something he can't solve from the description and the fellow has not posted his logs, he says "zip up your logs and I'll take a look"; this despite the sticky.

I don't know if this is organised behaviour or simply something that has evolved from natural demands, but it's simple, and it works. I know I'd be going crazy at the 5th occurence.

I do try my best to help everyone, and its frustrating when I do have to let some problems go without following a problem through to the end, but sometimes the time just isnt there, or the answer isnt coming to me. While I know a lot about all this GB-PVR stuff, PC's and directshow and video and audio and behaviour of specific hardware are hugely complex, and there is also alot of stuff I dont know. I find it better to just say if I dont know, rather than leaving them hanging waiting for me to come back with an answer.

Hey sub, congrats. Nice to see that you got your "home-circus" organised. That gives you the opportunity to focus on the important things in your life and keep your priorities in order. I've said this before I think, but I say it again: the decision to be home alot and take care of the kids was the best decision I ever made. However now the next problem presents itself: the last kid is leaving home in a few months, so I have to re-think my life a little.:eek:

Frankly speaking, even if Sub charges $$$ for GBPVR, I will still go after it (well ... it also depends on how much $$$). It is just giving me a wide range of options on how I would like my media centre runs in an easily configurable way. I did try some other media centre software, but nothing like how well GBPVR suits me.

I'd pay.... btw - I noticed that MMC does not support the MVP .... Nudge nudge :p

No, there is no plans for this. Portions of GB-PVR are used in a different product.

This new arrangement actually happened back in May 2005, so nearly two years ago now.

PS This app is also known as MMC and its very simular but from a diffrent feild....
