I don't see why not. I'll give it a shot.

I have no plans on making a non-GUI version. The whole purpose for me was to make something that had a GUI that would be easy for users to set up.

I actually haven't worked on it for a while now. I've been playing with Media Center, comparing it to GB-PVR+tversity. If there are any specific requests from people, I'll put some time into implementing those. Perhaps I'll put up the source code as well.

Does anyone have the latest version of comcut that they can attach to the thread. I've been unable to access the website hosting it for days.

Sorry about that... I had problems with my hosting account, and I haven't gotten that site back online yet. I'll attach the latest version.

The website is back up.

I haven't made any updates to the program since build 82. If you have any feedback or suggestions for future development (such as transcoding), please post a message here or send me an email.

Thanks.

Hi NiteShdw,

I have been using ComCut version 1.82b82 for the past few weeks and is been great. I run it in batch mode to convert videos which usually have been preprocessed with Comskip. It works flawlessly, on individual files. But, I cannot get it to process complete groups of files in a single directory. For some reason, it stops after one, two or three files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all your work.

I threw together the batch mode pretty quickly. Look for a file 'error.log' in your comcut folder. You can email that to me and it'll tell me where it wasn't working.

I have noticed that sometimes mpgtx, which I use to cut and demux the video, doesn't work on all my recordings. I suspect that my card (PVR-150) mangles the MPEG-2 files sometimes. There may be better ways to cut the videos.

The Comskip website has a batch file for using mencoder to do it. I'll have to look into that.

tipstir Wrote:PVR-150 records fine, it can't mangle the MPEG2 unless some hardware or software issue.

I was referring the the timestamp issue known to exist with PVR-150 drivers. I could be completely wrong, but I am guessing that mpgtx doesn't work well with MPEG-2 files that have incorrect timelines, as mentioned in the forum thread and that wiki article.

I have had quite a few recordings that mpgtx has refused to cut, claiming that the time periods to be removed were invalid.
