Sloooooow channel switching...

Please help me make SMALLER the UNBELIEVABLE delay of NINE seconds to change a channel!

Also PLEASE stop GBPVR from buffering keystrokes. Especially because of the problem above.

If you try to switch the channel and you don't know of the huge delay and since there is no feedback from the program that you DID press the button, you may start trying various buttons (channel up, channel down, 3, 4, 1, ok... etc.) resulting in a huge row of channel changes EACH taking 9 seconds... resulting in "wife-factor" going sub-zero (no pun intended)...

a defrag helps. but other than that, not a lot u can do that i know of.

I am in the same position. You'll have to upgrade your PC-set. I know for a fact that the manager for the development team at GB-PVR recommends atleast a 1.2Ghz PC.

I can assure you that it's possible to learn how to aim the remote and only press just ONCE on a button.

I've had the same problem.

Though I've noticed that my WinTV program has the same problem, though not as long as it takes GBPVR.. My LiveTV Buffer is on my 120gig RAID partition.

Athlon XP1700+, 512 meg ram, 160 gig HD, WinTV250 PVR card, GeForce2 TI TV-Out.

I run a VIA C3 1.2gig with 512 meg of ram and it takes me around 2.2 seconds to change channel.

i meant the .2 in the seconds 2 or 3 seconds you could believe, but a human knowing to a point, well a .2 even (.5 id let it slide, but .2) come on

well I am up to about 9 seconds (stable)

P4 2.7, 512MB HT
200GB SATA 7200 8MB buffer

machine SOLELY used for HTPC (so not so many file transfers to mess the disk)

any other program switches channels MUCH faster (it's just that I don't like any other program for many reasons)

it's unbelievable to have to wait 9 seconds (without ANY feedback from the machine) for EACH channel switch... even half would be hardly bearable (but would be a start)
