Recordingservice keeps sytem awake.

Ok I'll try out FileMon too. This is really starting to bug me. Last night I installed 99.12 again (couldn't resist ). Guess what, just like the night before: well after midnight it worked ok. This morning it doesn't anymore as it seems.
It looks like in the middle of the night the system is so tired it can't resist to go to sleep :mad: . I'll continue testing.

Ok here are the results:
1. 5 mins filemon with 99.12 = filemon 99.12.log

2. 5 mins filemon with 99.05 = filemon 99.05.log

With the last one the system even went to sleep after 5 mins with filemon on.

As you can see I added the filtered logs as well as the complete logs.

I hope it makes sense to you. I have been looking through the files but till now it's pretty much abracadabra to me.

Does stopping the GBPVRTray.exe process help?

Had to install 99.12 again first. I'm almost certain I tried it with gbpvr-tray off, but tried again now: no succes.

Where are you seeing that pattern? The filemon logs dont seem to show the GBPVRRecordingService.exe doing anything every 10 seconds.

You're right, I didn't look good. In the 99.05 log the tray-appl and the gbpvr.exe act at the same time every 20 secs. In the 99.12 log they act with a 10 secs interval (from each other) so it seemed to me as if they were acting every 10 secs.

I assuming this activity is not related to the machine staying awake though? ie, if you kill GBPVR.exe and GBPVRTray.exe does the recording service still keep the machine awake?

I found out something else: I saw your 99.12 sticky with the wake-up patch, I thought what the.......I applied the patch and since then it went to sleep 4 times very nice. I reversed the patch: no going to sleep. Applied the patch again: bingo. I'am a happy man now. I'll have to see it working for a few days before I really believe it, but so far so good.
