I was wondering do I need the recordingservice on the client? I turned it off, it seems to work fine:confused:

Hi Sub,

When you say 'Yes, you can turn it off', how would I do that on my client exactly?

I`ve got a laptop that I use to watch Freeview on using a card in my Shuttle, across a Homeplug network.

All`s fine and dandy, except the GBPVRRecordingService on my laptop seems to go very CPU hoggy for some unknown reason, when all I`m doing is watching over a network, not recording.

When I use the Task Manager to halt the process, it still carries on watching the Freeview, and makes life a lot easier on the CPU.

How can I stop it from ever starting on my laptop ?

Cheers Sub,

Regards,

Go to "Services" in "Administative Tool" in Config

Scroll down to "GB-PVR Recording Service"

Right click and set your options

Edit: If you don't want it to start with windows - you will need to change the "properties" on the right click menu
