Just built up a new system running Windows XP with a 2.4G Athalon, 512M memory.

I had this system previously running on Win2k and GBPVR sort of worked using an Hauupapauge Nova-S and an AVERMedia DVB-S Pro.

Now that I have put in a new hard drive with XP when I attempt recording wth either card, the CPU usage after about 30 sec goes up to 98%, and the whole system slows to a crawl and stops recording. The apps that came with the cards work fine.

Any thoughts.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Hi Sub. Here are the logs requested. CPU went through the roof about 6 mins into recording which ran 1430 to 1440

Thanks

What is the output of MuxChecker on your machine?

Does switching to the DVR-MS mux help?

The Mux Checker did show 3 different versions of a Cyberlink mux. I have now deregistered all but the newest and it seems much better.

DVR-MS seems to be the best with only up to 10% CPU usage. I'll continue my exploring and experimentation
