Do unused plugins slow down/clutter gbpvr? I've been testing out different plugins and I haven't uninstalled the unused plugins. Will this affect the performance of gbpvr?

Possibly. Some plugins start stuff running in the background even if you dont visit their screen.

Sorry I should have been more clear. I have the plugin deactivated in config. So they shouldn't be loading when GBPVR starts. Could there still be performance issues related to these plugins?

Deactivating the plugin in config prevents it from showing up in the GBPVR menu. However, the plugin is still loaded when GBPVR starts.

Ok, I guess I'll be deleting some plugins when I get home. Thanks!

Unfortunately a couple of plugins are badly behaved in this respect. Many do it correctly, only activating the first time you visit their screen (so disabled = no menu button = never activated). Unfortunately GB-PVR has to load the DLL to check the name of the plugin, and some badly behaved plugins launch background threads etc at this stage, rather than waiting for first activation.

To be sure, delete or remove the DLL from the plugins directory.

Sub, would that make the GBPVR remote plugin "badly behaved"? The socket needs to start when GBPVR does in order to provide remote control services at all times.

What do you mean? I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about. What is the GBPVR remote plugin?

God that was fast, you responded before I could add the link to it. The GBPVR remote plugin is a server I'm working on that allows Pocket PC's to control GBPVR.

I guess if you've got a good reason for doing it, then you have to, but the comment above about why some plugins cant be just disabled stands.

In the response to the original post, this is a perfect example of a plugin that starts doing stuff though.
