I've had to do a complete system reinstall. Which files do I need from my old GBPVR installation in order to avoid having to set everything up from scratch and what are the steps involved?

Don't worry, I worked it out.

Aside from downgrading Quartz.dll and using THMpgMux.ax are there any other tips and tweaks for an XPSP2 system that I should know about?

Windows firewall is on by default, and might interfere with gbpvr.exe talking to the recordingservice.

There is a common problem where Directshow 9.0c starts playing frames out of sequence - sort of really extreme stuttering. It was discussed at length in one of the sticky threads. Switching the quartz.dll file from 9.0b resolves it.

If you dont have the problem, then no need to do it.

Also, what does the THMpgMux.ax filter do?

Its the Cyberlink Mux filter that a lot of DVB users use for recording .mpg files. Not used by analog cards.

Check this thread out for info on the quartz.dll problem.
In a nutshell,some people have found a specific version of the quartz.dll from directx 9.0b works better than the latest version from 9.0c. There was a deinterlacing issue I think.

The other is the cyberlink muxer used by DTV. I guess it works better?
