All of a sudden when I load config, gbpvr tries to reinstall itself, is there a way to fix this ? All I did was install tv listings when this happened......

Thanks

More than likely, the install of TV Listings replaced a DLL of a version that GB-PVR doesn't like. The .net installer keeps track of file versions, and when it misses something or sees something not right it calls the install program.

I think there's a newer version of TV Listings which should not have that problem

I used to ask 'why?' Now I just reinstall...

I had this for a short while, I think it was either a reboot or a rescan of channels that seemed to fix it.

I have had this and it was usually a different user that installed GBPVR
GBPVR v1.3.11

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
2 GB RAM, 50GB system drive
1 TB recording drive (Raid 0)
2 x Hauppauge NOVA-S plus
Geforce 8800 GT
Windows XP Pro (Home network -Domain)

I noticed that if I just load config and click on cancel then the install goes away and config seems to load just fine, I just wanted to eliminate the hassle of it but this seems to work........

Thanks

If the MSI installer runs, then there is usually message logged to the Windows Event Viewer saying why. Its usually because the user has deleted a file.

Try this:

Run re-RegisterFilters.bat in \Program Files\devnz\gbpvr.

I had the same problem when I moved the GBPVR folder around in the Start Menu. I ran the above BAT file in the GBPVR directory and it's been working fine since.

Found the info in this topic:

I had the same problem as DoPeFiSh and followed ViperDragon's recommendation, which worked beautifully. Good advice ViperDragon.
