I've got an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 and I'm using GBPVR. I have a rather strange problem. The video works fine except the white. The white on the screen seems to come in really distorted. Here's an example.

It doesnt ring any bells for me.

If I was you, I'd start by trying to work out if it is a recording or playback problem. ie, try playing the recording on another machine. If the recording is fine on another machine, then its a playback problem, so try things like different video decoders or video renderer.

You could also try burning the video to a dvd and see if it plays fine through a normal dvd player.

If you are using overlay renderer it could be strange overlay settings on your video card.

Yeah, it happens when I play the mpeg file on another machine too.

Also, when I'm watching something with a lot of white like curling or hockey the live video is really choppy.

Sounds like a flaky capture card. If its a Hauppauge one, then you might be able to fiddle some settings in the Hauppauge TweakTool. http://www.cask-of-amontillado.com/pvr_tweak.html
