I thought that I had done something wrong so I tried recording another show from 2:30-3:300 and changed it from asap to 3:00-4:00 post processing.... no go. The file is still in the ts format, what am I missing here?
Can you zip and attach the logs?

I was wrong about the times, but it still should have worked. I recorded from 1-1:30 and told it to transcode from 3:00-4:00 and if in standby to wake machine. Thanks for your help Sub.

Try setting the start time to 'ASAP' while you test it. Its at the end of the start time options.

If it still doesnt work, zip and attach the logs.

O.k. so I changed it to ASAP, but it's still a TS file. Here are the logs. I just upgraded my video card to, so it has some changes as well. Still working through the bugs though on viewing.

I can see the failure in the logs, but cant look into the details at the moment - my normal hard disk is unplugged while I install Vista on a new hard disk.

Can you tell me if the transcode option in the Video Library manages to convert one of these .ts files for you? If not, please attach the log for that also. Thanks.

Hummm.... yeah, the transcode option under video library sure did work. In fact, this was the first time I've ever gotten it to work. I wonder if it has to do with the ATI card I just installed. Yeah it converted the ts file to an mpeg and I'm trying a Divx right now. Both don't have sound... I don't know why? Plus, GBPVR won't play the divx avi... neither will wmp, but VLC media player will for whatever reason. Ironically, still with no sound. I'm attaching logs, b/c they'll probably be needed.

If the divx avi isnt playing in GB-PVR or WMP, then it'll mean directshow isnt able find a decoder capable of playing divx video. I'm guessing you dont have one installed?

I do have divx installed if that's what you're saying. I have the new version.... 6.5 I believe. I can play other vobs that I have compressed with divx for my phone, but this one won't play in GB-PVR or WMP, but it will in VLC media player without the sound though.

Slightly off topic but with all the talk of DVR-MS and mpg, I figured I ask here. I am using the PVR-150 and recording directly to mpg files. What do I need to change in order to record to DVR-MS format. I have looked around the config app and poked around the forum, but nothing jumps out at me.

Thanks in advance,
Taz

Recording to DVR-MS is an option for digital card users - it doesn't apply to analogue cards.

I'm not sure why you'd want to anyway - I use DVR-MS as a recording format for my digital cards but it has a few minor disadvantages with playback on my MVP so I have to transcode to MPEG to get best FF/RW/Skip results.

You could 'post process' and transcode to DVR-MS but not with GB-PVR directly. The only advantage I can see in DVR-MS is the added metadata provided for by the ASF format.

Rather than hijack this thread if you want further discussion then post something in the General Discussion forum and I'll try to explain further.

Cheers,
Brian
