I have a DCT2244 (I think) for Comcast Cable. I bought a Hauppauge 150 (#1045) and am loving GB-PVR!
I plan on moving the cable box to my PC with the 150 in it, and tuning the box with the PC. What are my options?

I have the blaster that came with the card, and I think the cable box also supports serial. It has a 9 pin "Data" port on the back.

And how do I tell it to tune 1-99 via the card, and 101+ on the box and record via the a/v jacks?

A lot of these links don't work? How are you suppose to get the program working and do you really need to have snapstream installed? Don't you have to pay for these extra programs? Girder couldn't be found on their own server for US version? [Image: sad.gif]

The Ubiqsoft link works, and no, you do not need snapstream installed, but the method is similiar on getting GV-PVR working with Girder, and it's what I used to get it working as I couldn't find a GB-PVR guide on it anywhere.

A couple of the links on Girder's page do seem to be down, the third link seems to work, otherwise, type in download Girder in Google and I'm sure you'll find dozens of places to download it from.  Any version past 3.2.9, you do have to pay for past the shareware trial.  You CAN find 3.2.9 on the internet, P2P programs, but I do not know the legality of it, so I am not providing a link, if you want it bad enough, you will find it, or pay for it.

It's been a few months since I've installed mine, but I'll go though what I can remember:

1.  Install Girder.
2.  Launch Girder.
3.  Goto File->Settings->General.
4.  Select "Launch Girder on Windows Startup".
5.  Select "Hide on Startup".
6.  Select Apply and/or OK.
7.  Connect serial cable between cable box & computer.
8.  Make sure Girder is shut down.
9.  Download the following file:  Serial Plugin
10.  Copy the serial.dll file located in the zip file you just downloaded to your girder32/plugins directory, usually C:/Program Files/girder32/plugins.
11.  Download the following file:  DCT2000
12.  Start Girder & goto File->Settings->Plugins and select General Serial Support.
13.  Check General Serial Support & Auto Enable Input Device.
14.  Click Settings, and then Import and import the DCT2000.ini file you just downloaded.
15.  Under the Port Identifier box, choose the COM port you have the Motorola cable box attached to, such as COM1 COM2, etc.
16.  Hit Apply and/or OK.
17.  Download the following file:  Motorola DCT2000 GBPVR.zip
18.  Unzip the contents of the file(the .gml file) to your Girder directory, or somewhere else you can keep it, such as My Documents.
19.  In Girder, goto File->Open and select the .gml file you just downloaded.
20.  Goto File->Settings->General and check Auto Load, browse and select the .gml file you just opened.
21.  Goto File->Settings->Plugins and select Internet Event Client and check its box and select Auto Enable Input Device.
22.  From the Plugins tab, now select the Internet Event Server and check its box and select Auto Enable Input Device and click Settings.
23.  Make sure Allow All & Disable Abuse Protection are both checked.
24.  Enter a password and port number.  Make sure it's a port that you aren't currently using with your system.  I'm using 233 on mine.  Click Apply and/or OK.
25.  Now, goto GB-PVR's config app and goto the Capture Sources tab.
26.  I'm assuming you have a recording source setup, so click on Edit.
27.  Under the Channel Changer pull-down, select Girder Plugin and click Settings.
28.  Type in the port number you set Girder to, such as 233 in my example, along with your password and check Zero pad channel numbers & Use three digit channel numbers and click OK and OK yourself out of the config.

Start GB-PVR and goto guide and select something to see if it works.  Hopefully that's everything you need, as I said before, I'm going off of memory and it's been awhile since I set mine up.
