Log rolling not working.

I seem to be noticing a bug in the log rolling. Usually, when the logs roll, the file gets renamed from ttt.log to ttt-1.log. But I notice that any logs that have pvrx2 in the log name, roll right over to -3.log. This means I only get 1 rollover.

I've definitely got PVRX2.exe.log, PVRX2.exe-1.log, PVRX2.exe-2.log and PVRX2.exe-3.log. All the applications share the same logging code (in GBPVRPublic.dll), so they should also behave the same.

I cant think of any reason you'd be missing -2 and -3, and havnt seen any signs of this in any logs users have posted.

Yes, the pvrx2.exe.log seems to do it right. I only use MVP for client, so I don't get those logs. But the MVP-PVRX2.exe.log seems to only do -3.log.

You could get this if you're running multiple MVP servers, which I suspect you are?

Yeah, this can happen if you have multiple MVP servers run. As a server starts up it tries to rename the old log files before creating the new log file. Only the first instance will actually manage to create the log file (MVP-PVRX2.exe.log). The others will fail creating this log file, and will produce no log files...they will all however succeed in renaming the log files.

I've been aware of this for a long time, but its not worth fixing.

Greg, since I think you want to do this for testing mvpmc, this is what I do

1. soft (via green button) power off all my mvp's.
2. wait 20 or 30 seconds
3. soft power on the mvp I want to monitor
4. check the mvp-pvrx2.exe.log file to see that there are real entries. On rare occasions there is no logging entry so quckly soft power off/on
