Hello all,

Sorry if I am a bit late here...

The solution that works for the-warriners doesn't cut it for me. I have the computer stashed in a cupboard and if I go to press the power button - I can move the mouse.

Has anyone had more luck getting that event thingy to be sent? I would like, when the computer is up - to see the display regardless of the reason that the computer woke.

Anyone?

Thanks,

GGF

My screen came to life once when i managed to sleepwalk through the menus to 'Live TV' without seeing the menu. Try initiating Live TV and see if this helps...

Well, I can't really get that to work.
I can't sleep-walk like that because I am not in front of it. I want it to display the screen when I am at work, because VNC won't show anything if the screen is off...

ditto, did anyone find a solution?

i'm using girder for my remote control and i mapped a button to move the mouse pointer to the top left corner of the screen, but it didn't wake the monitor. seems that the mouse actually has to be physically moved to wake it up

cheers

i do only have a workaround at the moment: map one of your remote buttons to start up a short video playback, that will fool windows to accept it as real user interaction. for an example, take a look at the linked thread here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=21596

I think one lives in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr. You could copy that one.
I'm not always right

I had a similar problem. I tried nircmd with no success. The following fixed it:

1. Create a .BAT batch file with the following:
@ECHO OFF
POWERCFG /SETACTIVE "Presentation"
POWERCFG /SETACTIVE "Home/Office Desk"

2. Create a shortcut in the Start menu that points to this file. Edit the properties of the shortcut and define a shortcut key.

3. Map a button on your remote control to invoke the shortcut key sequence.

I'm not sure if POWERCFG is available on all systems (XP Pro SP2 has it).

Note: Your default power configuration may be different from mine. Check out powercfg.cpl.

Hope this helps someone. Spent all day trying to get this to work .
