Not that I'm asking for help (yet) for the wakeup process, as I just installed the patch for 99.12 and testing that.

My question is when the PC has started and made a recording will it make the PC go to sleep again?
I read somewhere that I should create a script for some hours later to shut it down, but that may not suit the recordings I've made.

GB-PVR never tells a machine to go back to sleep. This is something you'd need to do yourself (like setting you machine to sleep after x minutes of inactivity).

yeah, that could be good, but would happen if its going down and it has to wake again due to another recording?
Will it notice that in time like if the wakeup call comes in the middle of the shutdown.
And might a 'Go Sleep' function be in your thoughts?
That way it could "see" that it's no use to shutdown because it should start again within some configurable minutes.

And.. nope the wakeup won't work, but I'll keep trying, btw I tried this by manual recordings, but that should work too right?
What have I not thought of?
I got PCI devices to wake up the C in the BIOS, can it be something else?

Windows wont go to sleep if it has another wake up request in the next couple of minutes. If its more than this, then it goes to sleep, and wakes again when its due to start.

No. We've been using the current scheme since the beginning of GB-PVR, and its worked well so far so I dont see any need to change things.

Some motherboards are not full ACPI compliant and dont wake correctly. You might want to try hibernate vs standby since some motherboards vary in how well they work with these. GB-PVR doesnt do anything tricky - each time you schedule a recording GB-PVR just asks Windows to be awake at the specified start time, and Windows takes care of the rest.

I'll try that. I've been reading posts of the problem that some has in here, so I don't think it's much you can do, thanks anyways Big Grin

Is there an app or Windows system tool to view these scheduled wake events? Occasionally, my PC does not wake to record a show. It would be helpful if I could examine the pending wake events after I schedule a recording to verify that the PC is set to wake at the proper time, and to see what other wake times have been entered.

I have the same issues. I also posted a thread about this "hibernation doesn't work". They advised me to install a different GBPVRRecordingService executable. And I did. The computer does go to sleep now, however sometimes it doesn't wake up to record shows. Until 99.12 I never had this problem.

What I managed to discover so far is that recordings for the same afternoon of night tend to fail, but recording for tomorrow afternoon/night tend to work. That was the only logic I could discover. A way of monitoring/checking the windows scheduler might shed some light on this phenomenon.

Wessel.
