Can you try the attached patch and let me know if it helps?

There is a slight chance this binary is incompatible with your machine, since I'm using a different version of the compiler than that used to build v0.99.12, but we'll try it this way first.

Thanks Sub,

Presume your fear is realised. Installed patch and re-started recording service. Now find the following errors in the event log:-

Source: SideBySide Event ID 32
Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.CRT could not be found and Last Error was The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

Source: SideBySide Event ID 59
Resolve Partial Assembly failed for Microsoft.VC80.CRT. Reference error message: The referenced assembly is not installed on your system.

Source: SideBySide Event ID 59
Generate Activation Context failed for C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\PsiParser.ax. Reference error message: The operation completed successfully.

That said a test manual recording has completed successfully although no psi.log file has been generated.

System is set to record 2 x programmes overnight on BBC3. Will let you know results tomorrow.

To correct this, I think you'll need to run the Microsoft runtime patch here: http://www.gbpvr.com/vcredist_x86.zip

Sub,

System has now recorded 6 episodes of the programme from BBC3 which was causing the service to crash almost every time as well as 2 daily EPG updates.

Service hasn't crashed yet. I've applied the patch and after a reboot got the following error:-

Source: Application Popup Event ID: 26
Application popup: RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal System DLL Relocation : The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.

This error occurs every time I re-boot the system

The recording service appears to be running and GBPVR functionality appears to be ok. A psi.log file is now being generated.

On re-boot, the system wants to send mini-dumps to Microsoft for each of the psiparser crashes. Are these of any interest to you?

This wasnt caused by installing the GB-PVR patch. This was caused by the hotfix Microsoft released yesterday. See here: http://talkback.zdnet.com/5208-12691-0.h...&start=-27

Sub,

Just to give you some additional data for cause/ resolution. After I got my head out of the sand and changed to the ATI Mux (instead of the ATI Decoder), my recording crash issue seems to have been solved (a dozen automated and quick recordings with no issues).

Good luck with Bobin's, his seems more elusive. I fixed a couple of other issues with the patches listed in the 99.12 sticky, and just have a video/audio sync issue to deal with, which I will work on in another thread. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, its funny - I know of dozens of versions of the Cyberlink mux, most of which have one problem or another. I only know of the one version of the ATI Mux, but I'm not aware of any issues with it.
