client/server not working

"but that may be a red herring" ....whats this? I have tried all versions of VMR9 and I get the same results. Also I'm using a wired LAN.

I was meaning that error in the logs may not be the cause of your problem.

I had an issue with BDA recording error, it turned out that using the netbios name for the server in the client settings caused the error. So I used the ip address and all was fine. Although this is not the same error as you it might be worth a try.
