Probably for the same reason they run a plumbing stack into an attic crawl space & leave it.

Or why they don't bother replacing studs when they remove a window, they just tear out the headers & cover it with plaster & lathe.

LOL!

I had my roof mounted antenna go crappy when the springtime leaves started growing on the huge tree in my yard. I spend Easter mid-morning crawling around in the attic sucking in insulation trying to position it before getting frustrated and giving up

Was up in my attic yesterday as part of the wiring deal. Pre-wired for my drop for the range hood I am putting in. After I tile the counter and backsplash, have to punch a hole in ceiling and run duct up through and finish electrical connection. Even with a mask on the insulation dust can get to you.

Here in Texas, this is about the last month for before I stay out of the attic during the day. It's too hot up there during the day.

I'm working as an electrician. Now you know how I look and feel sometimes after a working day in an old house, on the attic or under the floor. Smile

I do like working outside, just on my own terms.

That & i'm afraid of heights so I wouldn't last long if I had to wire exhaust fans or lights on the end of a 30' ladder. LOL!

Which my buddy does quite a bit.

We leave that to our boss, he's our acrobat.Big Grin I think he does it mainly to avoid possible legal claims after me or my colleague would fall off a ladder.
I think a claim like that would ruin his pension scheme.Wink
I also have to say that the older I get the more careful and afraid of heights I get. Funny thing is though that our boss is afraid of narrow spaces e.g. under a floor.

I can't imagine crawling under a house down here in Texas. Considering the number of scorpions and spiders in our house, I wouldn't want to be crawling under a house unless I got hazardous combat pay.
