I was testing settings recordings today and tried out a Daily In This Timeslot reoccuring recording for a show X. X starts at 4pm and ends at 4:30pm. X also is on from 4:30pm to 5pm. I would expect a Daily In This Timeslot for show X at 4pm to set a recording for Monday through Sunday starting at 4pm and ending at 4:30pm. It did this, but it created a second reoccuring recording for show X from 4:30pm to 5pm.

This is normal. A timeslot season recording schedules recordings for any shows that have a start time in +/-90 minutes of the original show's start time. Its done this way to accomodate slight changes to the schedule of a show that might occur (like running later one week due to special event before it).

If this doesnt suit you, you can edit the <AllowableTimeslotVariance> setting in config.xml. The default is 90 (minutes). If you set it to 0, then it'll only record shows that start at the exact time...but dont come crying when the show runs late one week Big Grin

Good to know. When I manually deleted the Pending recordings for 4:30pm to 5pm, I still couldn't set a Daily In This Timeslot recording for the show. Is this to be expected?
