I just recently finished gutting and remodeling my kitchen. I was without a sink, dishwasher and stove for an extended period.

We tried to go the cheap way out and eat microwave meals rather than get take-out every night. My wife and I ate a disgusting amount of them during this time. It worked out pretty well since we didn't make dirty dishes or need a stove but now sight of microwave meals makes my wife gag (literally).

We have both sworn to never eat another one again.

"They" say liquid with enzymes - that's supposed to be the best dishwashing liquid. The main control board on my dishwasher fried out so I had to sift through a billion forum posts/web sites trying to figure out how to fix it.
That's where I learned about the detergent.

The dishwashing liquid was just the general "gel" that is sold, a lot of sites said to get the ones with enzymes. i don't know if it really true or not - personally we have both powder and gel. I don't think it makes that much of a difference. Ford, Chevy, whatever.

Alas, the dimensions of my kitchen made putting in a dishwasher a no-go.

Speaking of electrical and heights, a buddy of mine is also an electrician (I pretend to be a jack of all trades, but I am a ComputerAidedDesign guy.)

To the point, his previous employer (before starting his own biz) had the contract to replace parking lot lamp bulbs and service for shopping plaza's and malls. Think about going out and replacing those bulbs in the middle of the night during winter...

Don't they have some long pole or something for that? I can't imagine going up a ladder that high ... especially in winter...

My dishwasher moves around on shoes.

Actually they use a "Bucket Truck". Think along the lines of what the Power companies use to service the lines. Still, going that high in the air in winter to replace a light bulb.

Used to have one, just ended up doing them by hand in the long run.
