I am just curious.....can I save recored programs to a hard drive on my network, via a 54mps wireless connection, or does the destination hard drive have to be on the machine I am using at my gbpvr?!? Sorry for the novice question!!! (as you could guess....not much hard drive space on the recording machine, two massive h/d's on the network).

Possibly, but I think you'll be pushing it. A lot of people have problems playing files on network drives, and doing it wireless just makes thinks that little bit worse.

I have set things up to record to my network drive. It works well except the link to the recordings seem to disappear every 2-3 days - even though the recordings are still present on the network drive!

I believe this is because the way sub has set things up so that if gbpvr can't see the file (which may be due to using a network drive) then gbpvr removes it from the listing of recordings.

It's pretty annoying and I hope a resolution gets factored in future - I love the fact I can't hear the ticking noise of the hardrive on my htpc.

other than that I don't think you'll have any problems if you have basic networking knowledge - and time to troubleshoot!!

Bandwidth shouldn't be a problem - you'll soon discover if you are overloading things ....

You can tell gbpvr to not delete missing recordings.

It's in the config app somewhere.
Not sure exactly and i'm not at my gbpvr machine, but you should be able to find it.

It wont bring back recordings that have already been deleted, but it'll will stop recordings from being deleted in the future if the file isnt available at the time GB-PVR checks.

You could take a look at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/MpegImport
It can bring back the recordings you lost in your recordings database.
