@OZ- I see you also have the M2NPV-VM. I can't seem to get mine to go to sleep. I can get the monitor to turn off but that is about it. Did you do anything special?

Things are going pretty well. I underestimated some things but I am working through them. The machine itself works great. The only issue I have is that I think it runs a little warm. The CPU runs at about 48C all the time. It was at about 51 and I turned up one of the case fans to medium and it dropped it a couple of degrees. I think the TV stand it is in may be causing some of it but sitting on the table it still is about 43C. I have the CPU fan on full speed at 1300 rpm. The cooler looks pretty big to me so I don't think that really is the problem. Actually, I don't know if this is a problem at all. I am just not sure how hot is too hot. I would like to turn the case fan back down since it is kind of loud and defeats the purpose of the whole thing. The alarms are set for 90c by the factory so I don't think that 50 is an issue, but I guess the cooler the better. I have cool n quiet enabled but that does not seem to do much. I am also trying to work out the remote issues. I can't have it go into standby since I only have a PVR150 IR remote and if I standby it, it turns off the card and won't wake back up.

I think I have the video adjusted pretty well and the picture is good. I am still tweaking to get high speed action (racing) working better. I am getting pretty close though. I want to have it adjusted well by the time Kasey Kahne starts winning againWink (I saw your cars in your picture).

I also have had some issues on the DVD side. First the loud drive issue has been a problem. I downloaded drivespeed and it works well, but then sometimes it says that I don't have a dvd in the drive when I do. I get it going and then it does it again. For now I am using my regular DVD player. I also downloaded the dscaler DVD decoder and it works on most DVDs but not on all. I think there must be some DRM type thing going on. Should I be able to run all DVDs on the PC? I downloaded a trial of the nvidia drivers, but it still is no love on everything, and I don't want to pay for any extras at the moment if I don't have to.

I don't want to sound negative, but it has been a struggle on some things. On the positive side, I love the fast channel changes and stability. Those are both improved over the MVP. The MVP is MUCH easier to setup.

I will keep digging and learning. That is the fun of this anyway. I have the pictures and will post them soon. BTW, how do you post pictures in the message? The add picture icon asks for a URL. I know how to upload an attachment, but not a picture to a URL.

Thanks for asking.

Sounds like things are coming along nicely!

Mine runs in the 35*-40*C and will spike to 45*-47*C, but its a socket 939 which is known to be cooler than AM2. 50*C is not hot at all, the Pentium 4 HT that I built for my dad a couple years ago idles about 63*C with a Thermaltake BIG Typhoon on it!!! If it were me, I'd turn the fan back down. Smile

The board will shut it down before you can damage it from heat. Did you install the processor driver? It sounds weird, but I had to install the Cool 'N Quiet driver even though it was "activated" in the BIOS before my Cool 'N Quiet would work. If you haven't done so, its worth it and it will help.

Link to AMD Site for Driver Download.

I'm Kasey fan... through and through. Ever since his rookie season when he took an Intrepid to 2nd in his very first Daytona 500!!! In all reality, I am a Dodge boy all the way as well. I drive a Ram (pic attached) and the wife drives a 300M. Her father corrupted us both, and he now claims that he has infected me with "Dodge Fever". Big Grin

Let me know what you find on the stutter issue, mine does that on recorded Nascar at times as well.

I'm of no help on the DVD issue, I use a stand alone player for my DVD's. My optical drive in the PVR never gets used.

As for photos... You will need to upload them somewhere (Web space, Flickr or something like that, I use my web space). Once done, you can copy the "address" of the picture, and then hit the picture button when posting (yellow w/ mountains) and paste the address. You can use the preview button to make sure that they will display correctly.

Actually... the attachment of my truck picture looks pretty good... if I say so myself. Big Grin Its an attachment and not something I pasted the address to. I would say that its more than adequate for posting pics as long as you shrink the original down to 640 x 480 and re save it before trying to attach it.

The above pic is 640 x 512 and comes out to 27K.
