Event Ghost is so much more powerful than HIP, it has native support for MCE Remote. Guide is here.

Would this app be able to integrate with IR32 from Hauppauge without a secondary tool?

The only thing I don't like about HIP is that I haven't figured out how to send input directly to the program from IR32. I have to use HipSend, which causes a DOS window to open for a second whenever an IR signal needs to be sent. Although I haven't tested it yet, i think this will become a problem when an IR signal needs to be sent and someone is playing an Emulator on fullscreen. It would be great if I could easily get IR32 to send commands directly to a program to have the IR signals transmitted.

I think I saw a file attachment on a thread here for a program called HideRun.exe, which will run a program but not have it popup like that. Are you sure there aren't command line switches for HipSend that makes it non popup a dialog? I'm sure there are apps out there that handle a problem like you describe, it's just a matter of executing a process but setting a flag to not show the window. I do it all of the time in my Windows apps.

Event Ghost latest beta has added built-in plugin for GB-PVR! I directed the author to the HIP Guide for the 32771 codes, and he posted a beta today that has the plugin as part of the install package.

You can download it here. Get the latest _Setup.exe and _Update.exe files. If you need help in understanding how to configure Event Ghost, post here or read the Event Ghost guide here.

Hey, I just started working on EventGhost tonight. I then took your xml and tweaked it a bit.

Not that difficult considering it doesn't have much of a manual...

I'm wondering how GB-PVR will interface with EventGhost to send IR to change channels on an STB....

Hey Wakalaka, do you think the author himself has written the plugin? There's a couple of functions missing, plus the response is too quick. I'd like to crack open the plugin, but I wouldn't want to double up on you are someone elses work...

BTW nice page. And your xml worked for me for the most part... Looking forward to seeing the plugin wide open

I should have said that the Event Ghost author wrote the GV-PVR plugin. I just told him what I'm using his software for on his forums, pointed him to the HIP Guide, and saw a post by him a few days later that he wrote a GB-PVR plugin in the latest beta.

I'm using this app to control both DVBDream and GB-PVR. The only thing I have EventGhost doing is starting GB-PVR with the green button. Most of the time everything works fine but occasionally when GB-PVR starts it does not have focus so the remote is not useable. Any ideas on what to do to fix this?

I don't use this program, but to get GBPVR back into focus, I have a little trick. When things don't respond I tend to press the button that brings me back to the Main Menu. In this case, when the remote is not focussed on anything I use that same button to go to the top right corner of the screen and left mouse button to bring GBPVR back into focus (GBPVR in full screen mode). It works amazingly well. The slight glitch is not noticable and can be interperted as an undelivered button press.
