I type in:

c:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Gbpvrconvert.exe "c:\news.dvr-ms" c:\news.mpg" MPEG-2

and I get nothing.

Here is my gbpvrconvert.exe-native.log:
2007-04-21 14:19:27.562 INFO Log started
And here is my BDA mux checker output:
GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: PP MPEG Muxer (aka, CyberLink MPEG Muxer)

Found: ATI MPEG Multiplexer

VERSION: 9.14.0.60504

If you're running WinXP SP1 or higher, you will also be able to use the built-in DVR-MS mux filter
Any ideas?

It''s looking for "CyberLink MPEG Muxer" but you have "PP MPEG Muxer (aka, CyberLink MPEG Muxer)"

try a different mux. there's a thread somewhere with loads of different versions.

btw: you don;t really have c:\ as your recording folder do you?

No i dont use c: for my recording folder, but I thought I would move the file there so I could avoid most of the mistakes I usually make when I try to manually enter file paths into command prompt Wink

I was thinking the same thing you were suggesting about the muxer...anyone know what the "prefered" cyberlink mux is today (I am recording ATSC as dvr-ms, which is the only way that has worked for me...then trying to do the conversion to mpg), and do I have to remove the one I have?

Thanks for the responseBig Grin

So i tried the 5.0.2022 cyberlink mux.

Here is my muxchecker output:

ah ATSC. Seems converting this to mpeg using gbpvr is problematic due to problems with the cyberlink mux failing to handle the ATSC stream correctly.

Yeah, the Cyberlink and ATI muxes really dont seem to like ATSC. There isnt really much I can do about this.

Thanks sub, thats good to know. I thought the problem was just recording, not post-recording conversion. I thought I had understood that the dvr-ms worked best for recording because it tolerated glitches in reception better. I was also assuming since dvr-ms was basically a mpg2 that conversion/transcoding would not be a problem...obviously I was wrong:o What about those errors that show up in the log...lack of an elecard decoder and a lame encoder?
