Well, the title says it all pretty much. My Hauppauge PVR150 is not showing up on "Hardware Decoder Device" list. I've tried other PVR programs, such as SageTV, WinTV, and uh... another. They find the card just fine.

The odd thing is that the Hauppauge PVR350 DOES show up on the list.
Well, at least I find it odd... It maybe supposed to be that way, I donno.

Any thoughts?

Don't know the answer but does it show up in device manager?

I take it you have a 350 as well? What driver shows up in device manager?

I assume you're talking about the Hardware Decoder list in the playback tab of the GB-PVR config app.

No, the 150 won't be there because it doesn't have a hardware DEcoder. It does have a hardware ENcoder, tho, which is what you need for video capture.

The 350 does have a hardware decoder, which is why it's on the list.

So, yes, it is supposed to be that way...

No, the only TV tuner card I have is the PVR150.

The title in the device manager is "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II (26xxx)"
Driver Version: 2.0.48.25037

At first install, Vista found the right drivers for it, and it worked with the other programs I mentioned. I didn't like those very much, so I wanted to try this program.
I've already uninstalled/reinstalled the card & drivers, using the ones that came on the CD.

Do you happen to know if I could get an earlier version of GB-PVR?

The 350 both encodes and decodes (to its TV out). However, I understand it doesn't always work very well with GB-PVR, at least not the TV-out.

The hardware encoder encodes the video into MPEG-2 format for writing onto disk. The card has to have a hardware encoder for it to work in GB-PVR.

I think there are more details about this on the wiki.
