I posted a problem on this thread on March 4 and NavyGuy replied on March 8 that he would look into it. I know you guys are volunteers, so I don't want to complain, but it is now April 11. Any chance that someone else can look into this?

I have a temporary fix by adding the letter "s" as the first letter of the the folder name for those folders beginning with the letter t though z. Then the plugin finds all of the folders and keeps them n alphabetical order

ok i think you addressed this before but just to clarify. I keep my moves in a [Name] (Year).[File extention] format. is it the year in () that is throwing plugin off? it won't auto look up for any of them.

Also a new problem, it might just be me, but i can't download any cover images. it just leaves a blank image. it gets all the text and everything, but neither IMDB or Amazon will allow pictures through. any ideas?

yes I seem to have lost images as well. thought it was something I was doing wrong.

Can I request a low priority change ? How about a button to trash the database and rebuild it from scratch? I regularly do manual housekeeping on my files and I end up getting out of sync with the Movies DB.

Alternatively, would it be possible to fix the bug where it crashes when you hit delete on the last movie in the database ?

I rarely, if ever, get an info for Director or Writer when I do a lookup on IMDB. When I go to the IMDB page, or do a lookup in another database (i.e. ANT Catalog), the data downloads perfectly.

Am I doing something wrong?

Have you ever considered writing a plugin to integrate the XML database from ANT Movie Catalog (like the MyFilms plugin done for MediaPortal)? Would that be possible in GBPVR?

Thanks for a great plugin!

I really really really liked this plugin. I don't want to use Video Archive because i think it looks icky. I want this. Any way this might get ported to the new version? eh? I'm sure some people like me would love to see this resurrected, and I'd even be willing to throw some cash your way as some incentive Wink

I'm with you, il1019! I really miss this plug-in. Plus, I've spent a lot of time working on this database.

I'm with both of you, i was about to post a question asking why i can't get this to show up in the plugins menu when i realized it must not be supported Sad

Based on everything i've seen and read this does exactly what i want it to, now if only i could get it to work!

It should work if you create a sub-directory under plugins (call it LegacyPlugins), and copy all the Movie files there. It should now show up in the config program.

I too have used this plugin and like how it works, but it seems maybe NavyGuy has gotten busy with other things. I may take the time to develop a new one, if anyone has any specific features they like/don't like, PM me and I will try to address.

Thanks for the reply JavaWiz, your suggestion worked, looks like i'm up and running, just got to test it at home with some movies.

As for future development, i'd like a cleaner skin than what Movies currently has, i'm using the community wide screen skin and movies doesn't look very good in contrast with it Smile. Depending on how hard it is to make one maybe i'll do it.

I'm using GBPVR exclusively as a movie/music playback tool so i'm not even using the recording features (no cable or hd-tuner card) so it's pretty much a dedicated movie box.

Thanks, JavaWiz. We, too, use GBPVR almost exclusively for movies and music. This plug-in was great for organizing my dvd rips and providing some metadata what was easy for the whole family (wife's a movie buff but technophobe). I agree with Retrograde about the skin. Quite often too much data for the space provided so that lines overlap and look crappy.
We've also had some issues with downloading metadata from IMDb and Amazon. Would be nice to get that fixed. Besides that, nice neat plug-in for organizing large movie libraries with clean interface and organized metadata would be exactly what we need. Thanks again and keep us posted.
