okay,
ive done exactly what you said, comskip works in gbpvr, wiht only about 1 second off commercials before it skips (and comskip files were created)
and com clean seems to work, (opened it up in Windows media player), it has 1 second of commercials in it, and then it runs smoothly into the next part of the show. However it did not make a copy of the video, it is now the only video in the recorded TV (original is still in backup folder)

i hope i did that right, meaning that after comclean, the video will work in any media player without the text files.

here is the postprocess.bat, again it is the exact same thing as what came with zprocess

It sounds like you have done it right.

If you see some commercial still, that's a tweaking issue with Comskip. Comclean will just cut out whatever comskip detected, so after it is done you should have a video that will play normally, but not require comskip text files, and will have that little bit of commerical.

THis would be the same whether you used ZProcess or not.

ZProcess will have saved the original into the backup directory. All that should be left in the original directyory is the newly cut video. (Some extra text files can be removed if you check, 'Discard Temp Files'

Next step, we will not bother with comskip or comclean.

I want you to try and transcode the newly cut video with the 2avi profile, using the defaults.

Send ZProcess logs and then you and I and others (who know lots about their favourite transcode parameters) can help you tweak your settings, so that the final transcode looks good to you...

When you're satisfied with that, we'll make sure that the PostProcessing.bat is good to go

ok done, it transcoded, to avi, the commercials are skipped (other than the one second ) and it runs smoothly into the next scene

However, the quality is crap, and yes, it is the default profile of 2avi

Now THAT is not ZProcess. Now it's a matter of you chatting with others about what settings they like. I have used the very same defaults that are included with GB-PVR. I won't be offering suggestions as to what is best for you.

I will say, that you are not alone, and that you will not ever get the same quality and and small size that is readily available from rips on the net.

That is the same whether you use ffmpeg, mencoder or vlc.

ZProcess has most of the possible settings available for the three transcoders. But it's up to you to find a the settings. But as I said , when you finally get something that looks good, you notice the size of the file is HUGE, almost like the original MPG...

Good luck
