I have a Lifeview TV Walker Ultra and installed GBPVR. However, I don't know how to setup the TV Channels and I can't do it using the Tuning Assistant. Can anyone tell me how to get it works? I am living in Hong Kong and the Tuning Assistant don't have my country settings also.

Thanks!

You cannot use Tuning Assistant as it is only for BDA devices. I (believe) the Walker is not such a device. I had the TV Walker Mini. It is not a very good Tuner to use as has (had) some problems with GBPVR. Kingargule did however manage to make it work...

1. You should be able to choose Hong Kong in the Config. I do.
2. I think you need to choose GO7007SB Recording Plugin with that device.

Try searching for posts by jksmurf on the Walker, there should be some old posts of mine which may help. I used to do more configuration in XP, but you can now just choose Hong Kong.

Let us know how you get on :-)

I can choose Hong Kong in the Config and set GO7007SB as Recording Plugin. However, I can't setup TV channels. I don't know how to set it up to scan for channels.

Unfortunately this device doesnt work well with GB-PVR. There is no channel scanning for the GO7007SB devices - you need to know these numbers in advance for entering next to the channel names in the capture source channel list.

Where can I add the number? I can just see the Channel and assign a number, not the frequency.

If you chose HK, the numbers are tied to a frequency.

See this post. Note that as far as I know, you no longer need to go CALCULATE the offset frequencies based on the area you live in.

Basically the Free To Air Channels that you can get with the TUNER part of that device are here:

1. http://www.ofta.gov.hk/zh/freq-spec/tvbnet.pdf (Chinese)
2. http://www.ofta.gov.hk/en/freq-spec/tvbnet.pdf (English)

If you have NowBroadband or cable, you can feed the SVideo (audio too) from Now Broadband as an-SVideo INPUT to that device as an external tuner. I attach a few pics for you of my settings.

Hmm.. did you read this? I wrote most of it, but to be honest I gave up on my device some time ago, because as sub said, it has issues...

Do you have a mux installed?

yes. I read it before but still can't figure out how to setup the frequency. Or any registry settings related to it? I am thinking whether the original Lifeview program conflicts with GBPVR or not. If yes, may be I need to uninstall the Lifeview one.

For the mux.... I have installed the Lifeview TVR and I think there is a mux installed by it.
