I've been working to resolve a wake issue I have on v1.0.16. I have tried the DelayedStart.exe and NativeUtiliies.dll fixes. I attempted to go back to GBPVR10008 but it does not support SchedulesDirect, which I use. I know my PC can and does wake because I created a scheduled task in windows which wakes the machine at 01:26 everyday and creates a file, and the time/date stamp on the file tells me the machine is waking. Any assistance is appreciated.

Did you apply the waking related patch from the '1.0.16 survival guide' thread?

If you are referring to the NativeUtiliies.dll fix, yes.

Thats the only issue relating to waking that I'm aware of. Its possible it might take a few days for the spurious wakeup events (generated with earlier NativeUtiliies.dll) to clear.

Check the times listed in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log when the recording service starts and you'll see the list of times GB-PVR has asked Window's to make sure the machine is awake. Window's takes care of the rest.

I found this thread and I think the solution (install NativeUtiliies.dll) will help my problem.

The problem is that I can't stop NativeUtiliies.dll. Does anyone have a solution for me? I have a resource that is using NativeUtiliies.dll and I can't replace the DLL.

Thanks for the help.

Stop the recording service and the tray utility then you should be able to replace it.

Sub,

I tried that and had no luck. I am running VNC do you think that might be using the DLL?

I did just the same during the weekend with VNC, without any problems. The steps I did were:

1) End the GBPVR Tray app by right clicking and choosing Exit
2) Start up the services control panel (Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services)
3) Stopped the GBPVR Recording Service (select it and click the square stop button or use the context menu)
4) Copied the new NativeUtilities.dll over the old one
5) Restarted the Recording Service (click the triangular play button or use the context menu)
6) Started the config app and ended it - this will restart the tray app

Sub, how long does it take for an event in PVRX2 (i.e. me clicking on record xyz) to show in the log?

It seems (I could be wrong as I'm only just looking at it) that the recording service isn't updating the log file (and I guess what ever file it writes to for windows to listen) unless I restart the recording service itself.

I only checked as it didn't wake last night for the first time, only change being I rescaned channels as the UK has some new ones, looking at my GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log showed an empty file. I restarted the recording service and it filled with all programs it should, so I clicked a new program in PVRX2 to check, and that hasn't appeared in the log file.

One last thing, as I havn't said it enough.. great program, I've been using it 12 months, the fact I don't post much here is a sad testament to how well it works, I never have to ask for help fixing it! Cheers.

EDIT: As a thought, I could change my nativeutilies.dll without stopping the recording service, but I just checked and the recording service is shown as started in the admin Services window, I don't know if that could be a problem. I'd have imagined I shouldn't have been able to overwrite the old one if it was in use.
