Sorry folks, this is going to be another "my machine won't wake for recordings and EPG updates" thread!

I've set the "Wake machine" option in the config application and set my machine to go to standby but it doesn't wake at all. I've applied the Native Utilities patch but still nothing. The problem occurs whether its hibernation or standby and whether its a manual record or scheduled from the tv guide.

I've read these forums quite a bit now but all the fixes provded previosly just don't seem to work for me. If you guys can tell me which logs to post (if not all) I'd be happy to post them if that would help.

Thanks.

Did it update before? If you don't know, then the first thing to try would be to see if your machine can wake up at all. Create a task in control panel -> scheduled tasks and tick "wake machine up for this task", put your machine in standby and see if the machine wakes.

Thanks Stefan.

I hadn't thought to try that so will do that tonight and post back the results. I'll clear the logs, recreate the problem and post logs if it doesn't work. This is the last thing (probably put a curse on it now) I need to resolve to have this version working like a well oiled machine!

Right then, so...

I've set up a scheduled task to wake the machine from standby - this works.

I've enabled log flushing and I've set GBPVR to record a a show. Logs attached. I don't know much about reading the logs but I don't appear to see that the recording service or GBPVR recognise that the system is going into standby in the first place. Could be wrong though.

In the logs I can see that the recording that should wake the machine, actually starts when I manually wake the machine.

I recall reading a post about recording service patch but can't seem to find it - would this fix the problem?

GB-PVR has asked Windows to be away at these times:

Blimey that was quick!

Yes these are my scheduled recordings that are still pending. I set it to record a show at 20.00 on Five and then put it on standby but it failed to wake - is this not shown in the logs?

Cheers.

That bit of log message I highlighted above is the only thing that GB-PVR does in relation to waking a machine. It just askes Windows please be awake at those times, then Window's takes care of the rest. There would be no other log messages that tell anything in relation to this.

You do need to have patch from the 'v1.0.16 survival guide' thread applied though.

Thanks - are you referring to the native utilities patch?
