it looks like my machine is going to sleep during the EPG update, could explain why it has been failing recently.

Correct, I'd say that is what is happening. Unfortunately there isnt much you can do at this stage except adjust your machine sleep timeout to be longer than it takes for zap2it to return the data.

I have had the same problem(and other hibernate-problems). I have created this little program, which is to be called like this: DNH.exe 30
"30" is the number of minuts the computer don't hibernate. I have the DNH.exe call in top of updateepg.bat: start dnh.exe 30 /Min

great, nice hack,

I should add some other processing to my postupdateepg.bat, such as defragmenting my drives, backing up my GB-PVR stuff, etc etc

I don't know anything about Zap2it, but it seems to me that almost 6 hrs should be enough to update, isn't there something wrong with zap2it?

it went to sleep:p it was sitting there waiting for zap2it to return, and something didnt set whatever you need to set to keep windows from going to sleep, so night night... and it woke up for a recording at 9PM so actually it took 18 hours

It might have only taken five minutes to return the info, but if the machine is set to hibernate after four, then he'd get this problem. Its not taking hours.

My mistake, I forgot that the hibernation/standby doesn't show up in the log. I "thought" it was awake all the time.:o
